Lilies have something of the evening about them — they open slowly and their scent deepens as the day quiets down. Here they are joined by tulips, carnations and a fine mist of gypsophila, the whole thing kept in warm tones and tied with rattan, which lends the arrangement a natural feel. Greenery frames the bouquet like the edge of a painting. Take it to dinner for two, give it to your hosts to thank them for a lovely evening, or simply set it on your own table. The scent of fresh lilies does more for a home than any candle.
