The gentle pink of live flowers arranged on a base of fresh greenery gives this composition a quiet, pastel character. A light palette is sometimes chosen to bid farewell to those we think of with tenderness — it softens the solemnity of the place without taking away its dignity. The greenery forms a calm background and keeps the flowers fresh, while the low, compact form allows the whole to be laid directly on the grave. The arrangement is made by hand, with care for proportion and the natural placement of the buds.
