Delicate pink against a strong red — this pairing has temperament. Pink carnations, modest and soft by nature, take on a whole new energy in a red box: the composition is warm, lively and a little contrary. Carnations are also among the longest-lasting cut flowers, and set into soaked foam they can adorn a room for a very long time. There's no vase to prepare and no stems to trim; just top up the water now and then. A good choice for someone who likes their colours worn boldly and without apology.
