An alternating arrangement of white and red carnations traces a clear, orderly circle in this wreath. The carnation is a durable flower that stays fresh for a long time, and for this reason it has long been valued in funeral floristry. Foliage and fir fill the base, giving the colours a strong, dark backdrop. The pairing of white with red is also read as patriotic, which makes the composition fitting for the funerals of those who served their community. The whole rests on a frame with wooden legs.
