Peony roses are a French variety whose buds are so full that, up close, they look like peonies at the height of their bloom. Gathered in a basket, they form an arrangement that is soft, abundant and deeply romantic. It is a delicate flower that rewards good care — freshness usually lasts three to five days, but what days they are. The sizes begin with the intimate and end with compositions that are almost banquet-scale; the photos show, among others, versions with a hundred and one and two hundred and one roses.
